Divas with a Cause, or D.W.A.C, presents its sixth Annual Divas Jukebox Jam Benefit Concert this Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. The organization, which is made up of a group of talented female vocalists, will use their platform to help raise awareness, financial assistance, aid families, and educate people on health-related issues affecting our communities.
Maryline Blackburn (Founder and C.E.O. of D.W.A.C.) is the daughter of a patient who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and spent two months in Fairbanks, Alaska providing care to her mother. Blackburn discovered so much information about Chronic Kidney Disease, her research propelled her to use music as an alternative to assists those who have been affected by this rare disease.
Several female vocalists, including Blackburn, will be on board to perform on stage, educating people about Chronic Kidney Disease, the importance of knowing your status, and living a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of having CKD. The proceeds raised from this event will go towards several various non-profit organizations in the effort to find a cure and fight this disease, which affects 1.4 millions of Georgians.
Singers Tomi Berry, Sherri Seiden, Nikki Canter, Eileen Howard, Nicha Hilliard, Angela Blair, and Maryline Blackburn are among the performers at the benefit concert.
This charitable event is inviting all families, patients, and survivors of Chronic Kidney Disease to come out to enjoy great entertainment and get informed on what they can do to help this cause.
