In this edition of The Mental Space with Sean Garvey, media personality, author, philanthropist, and The Cool Soror Podcast host Rashan Ali visits the show to discuss her life experiences as an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) student, soror, and how the journey didn’t negatively affect her mental health.
Ali also explains the misconception people have of the Greek life, the regrets some students have by not attending an HBCU, and why the television show Sister Circle was therapeutic to her mental state.
On the topic of HBCUs and mental health, CVR (Coaches vs Racism) executive director Darryl Woods joined Garvey and Ali to share thoughts on Deion Sanders leaving an HBCU football team to coach at the University of Colorado.
